Future Island’s Singles

March 25, 2014 • Music

If you want your summer to feel like six months of some neo version of Sixteen Candles, you might want to get your hands on Future Island’s latest album, Singles, which drops today. Artfully combining bubbling pop with the weighted down, somber baselines reminiscent of all my favorite John Hughes movies, all that angst and lust and unrequited love, the three-piece synth band manages to marry melancholy and hope in one listenable little package.
