Around midnight, a birdie told us that Hollywood’s resident IRL Disney Princess Lupita Nyong’o inked a deal to be the next face of Lancôme. On her new ambassadorship, Nyongo told, “I am particularly proud to represent [Lancôme’s] unique vision for women and the idea that beauty should not be dictated, but should instead be an expression of a woman’s freedom to be herself.”

Seeing as Nyongo’s beauty-oriented speech at the Oscars rendered us all blubbering messes, we can only imagine the actual pearls of wisdom she will further grace us with as ambassador to the brand — and of course, the killer imagery she’s destined to serve up.

From blue eyeliner to fuchsia lipstick and a gigantic smile, every red carpet appearance she’s ever made has been basically worthy of a campaign itself. Are we fangirling too much? Sorry, not listening. Too busy fan-casting an elaborate Lancôme commercial where Lupita single-handedly smashes patriarchy with a gigantic lipstick tube with her team of friends (Janet Mock, Beyonce, and Rihanna, natch).

It’s particularly inspiring that in interviews, she has repeatedly said she’s inspired by longtime model Alek Wek. Fingers crossed that they’ll be in a campaign together — it would be really amazing to see black girls as the inarguable bastions of beauty rather than token casting alongside their paler counterparts for major campaigns. We’ll be watching.
