Chet Faker’s “Gold”

From the moment Radiohead’s “Karma Police” debuted back in ye olden times, I was forever indebted to late-night drives and highways bathed in Cadillac headlights. Chet Faker’s latest video for “Gold” spurns a similar affection, only instead of a dusty hood chasing down a struggling man, director Murai Hiro has it the other way around, where three roller skating babes take to the highway in a dance choreographed by Ryan Heffington, the dude responsible for the moves in Sia’s “Chandelier” and Andrew Garfield’s turn as a dancer in Arcade Fire’s “We Exist.” The vid’s absolutely hypnotic… and it ends with a taxidermied deer. So there’s that.
