Ty Segall Wins “Best New Interactive Website for a Single” Award

September 10, 2014 • Music

I haven’t been this excited for a music video since MTV still had MJ’s “Dangerous” playing on my parent’s tube TV in the living room. Directed by Matt Yoka and coded by Simon Wiscombe, Segall’s latest single “Manipulate” from his forthcoming album is an interactive experience, where the viewer gets to click through each frame, turning illustrated rocks into aliens, plants into a pair of legs, whatever your manic little heart desires (to the tune of a reported one trillion combinations). Paying my bills online is really f’ing awesome, but this is really what the internet was made for.

Watch the video below, or, better yet, have a play on Segall’s website.
